These pins with glass heads are made after finds from London dating to the second half of the 12th century (Egan, G. und Pritchard, F., Dress Accessories c. 1150-c.1450, London, 1991, nos. 1468 und 1469, p. 304).

The pin shanks are brass, 0.7 mm in diameter; pin length overall is c 5-6 cm. The heads are glass and about 5-6 mm in diameter.

These pins are a nice, decorative way to fasten headdresses such as kerchiefs, veils, or barbe and fillet headdresses.
