spindle whorl "upcycling"

Though it has been trendy for a while now, recycling or upcycling are no modern invention at all - making something new from something old (and maybe broken) has a very long tradition. 

One of the nicest historical examples, in my personal opinion, is making spindle whorls from shards of broken pottery, something that has been done for a very, very long time. Give the shard an approximately round form, drill a hole in more or less the middle, and voilà, there's your new spindle whorl.

The whorls for sale here are made from modern broken ceramic pots. Just like the originals, they are a little wonky and lopsided. Their weight varies as well, depending on their thickness (which in turn depends on the shard of the pot). If possible, I will of course try to fulfil your wishes regarding weight and colour.
